As a repeat visitor to Siem Reap, I was delighted with my first stay at this luxurious boutique hotel— great facilities, including a pool, gym, dining…., comfortable rooms, great location, and especially a wonderful staff and management. Covid had a huge impact on Siem Reap’s tourist economy, this hotel came through with flying colors. Can’t wait to come back, highly recommended.
"The Koulen lived up to its great reviews. The hotel and pool is beautiful and breakfast was pleasant and adequate. Its in a quiet area but not too much of a walk to restaurants and markets. The staff were wonderful and we would certainly stay there again."
Wow! Koulen Hotel is a must stay in Siem Reap. It should be called a Resort! Upon arrival you are given the most delicious and healthy cool drink, and a cold towel to cool yourself. Bee was so helpful in showing us the amenities of the hotel, and available tours. Checking into the room, they bring up your luggage and show you around. The rooms are huge, clean and luxurious. The shower is a rainfall shower with a lot of pressure and is very nice. Bed is comfortable.
The location is so convenient, there is a mall right next door and only a 10 minute walk to pub street. The hotel has tuk tuks to take you wherever you'd like to go. Mr Sen was an excellent driver.
The best part is the huge lovely pool with lots of places to relax, and happy hour from 2-6pm every day at the poolside bar. I tried every single cocktail and all are amazing! Very fresh and so cheap.
Breakfast was included and had loads of great options including choose your own omlette or noodles. Husband also loved the wrapped bacon!
The best part for us was the cooking class with Chef Chien. You book for whatever time suits you and the chef teaches you in a nice set up by the pool. You learn 4 khmer dishes and are given a refreshing drink. You are served them at the end very professionally. Will definitely be back to Koulen Hotel next time, it has everything you need and more plus the most lovely staff. Absolutely one of the best places we have ever stayed.
Outstanding from the moment we were greeted at the Hotel entrance & our luggage whisked away to our room. Beautiful foyer area with stunning views out to the Well designed Pool & Garden area. Rooms were the amongst the biggest & best we’ve stayed in around the world. The suites include a full size Kitchen, Living room with additional Television, a 6 seater dining table & a second balcony. The hotel is very new & tastefully furnished & decorated. The Food & Drink service from the Restaurant, Cafe & Poolside bar was exceptional. The crown jewel to this Hotel has to be the best staff team we’ve ever had the joy of staying with, hats off to management to put together an amazing ensemble of willing & happy staff to ensure your stay is perfect! A shout out to just the few staff that I can remember their names like Bee, Lin, Chhon, Pai & Sann (I hope I got the spelling correct & apologies to all the other staff you were also great). I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again & I recommend this 1 to anyone. PS we’ve stayed in other high rated hotels in Siem Reap & the Koulen exceeds them all. A big shout out to some of the staff, Bee, Chhon, Pai & Sann (just the names I could remember as all staff were great)
As befits such an elegant hotel behind the Royal Palace, the entrance to the Koulen is beautiful but has a tropical, private feeling to it without a large sign. Arriving is like walking into a private estate in the middle of town. Inside it opens to a magnificent garden with a large pool, wonderful artwork, and a well-tended bar tucked in the corner. Rare to find a courtyard like this one that is larger than the hotel itself.
The suites are the largest I have seen in Cambodia or anywhere that I can remember. Beautiful natural wood inside and windows that stretch the entire distance of the wall. Housekeeping teams keep the rooms and balconies spotlessly clean every day.
From the manager to the gardeners, the impeccably trained staff is constantly polite and attentive. Receptionists always greet each person with a smile, and there is never a wait. The breakfast buffet overflows with choices coffee or tea made to order for each guest. The small café is the ideal place for lunch or tea with friends.
As a foreigner, I sometimes am disappointed in locally owned hotels because they cannot always match international standards, but the Koulen Hotel surpasses in luxury and care than the more expensive and famous luxury chain brands in the neighborhood. I tried it once, and I keep coming back.
We had a suite, and it was like a one bedroom apartment which was incredible.
Everything about this hotel was amazing and the pool was fabulous.
We would recommend Koulen Hotel for seeing Siem Reap as it's ideally situated for all the amenities.
I recommend you to book your stay directly from the hotel. Booking staff replied very quickly and was able to answer very clearly all the questions. Special thanks to Sam On ORN of your professional service.
We booked everything through the hotel: pick-up, guided tour to temples with the van of the hotel. Easy and trustworthy service!
Staff was very friendly and spoke good English. Not remembering all the chearful and friendly faces of the staff but at least remembering Bee, Pie, Lin.... thanks to you of making our stay so wonderful!
We loved our visit to Siem Reap and Koulen Hotel. The hotel was immaculately clean, the room and pool were both beautiful, and the breakfast was excellent. What really stood out was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. They were the most helpful of any hotel I've ever been to. Koulen Hotel is also in a very convenient location - just a few minutes walk from Pub Street, local markets, and other attractions. I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Siem Reap.
Although it is located in the central area in Siem Reap, the design and setup really makes you feel in a remote SEA resort once you enter the hotel. I observed they operate the hotel in the same way as those big hotel chains, and definitely beats the two Hyatt I stayed this year.
We had great experience from booking till departure. The staff were quite responsive in WhatsApp and email for my enquiry before my travel, and were very friendly and helpful during our entire stay. Airport pick up and check in was seamless. The 3 bedroom family suite we stayed in was very very spacious and clean (we ran into two small episodes of bathroom facility issues - probably due to low maintenance during covid, but they fixed for us in no time ). The pool was very enjoyable with excellent bar service. Breakfast surprisingly beat my expectation with egg and noodle stations and table service - they even remember our choice of coffee/tea after a while.
Pub Street is in walking distance and only cost USD2 for a tuk tuk ride. There is also a shopping mall and a supermarket right next block.
This place is an absolute gem. Fantastic value. Ideal location. Staff gracious and keen to help. We had a 2 bedroom suite as a family of 4. It was enormous and well appointed. Utensils and crockery removed from kitchenette presumably due to Covid (and available on request) … and not needed anyway due to excellent good value food options both at the hotel and nearby. Pool area gorgeous. Staff at reception were friendly and attentive and Try at the pool bar looked after us very well. Reception arranged a driver for tours.. Sok.. who was excellent. Overall a fabulous stay.

Our first trip to Siem Reap after 2 years of covid madness. Koulen hotel is only 4 year old and 5 minutes walk to city old market , pub street and many restaurants and small eating shops within the vicinity.
Angkor Wat is only 30 minutes by Tuk-Tuk.
We got a big room with dining and TV area on one side and bedroom on the other side separated by a sliding glass door.
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was normal.
Overall, very happy with the stay.
Super hotel with very friendly staff. The team are always super helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay.
Rooms - we had booked 2 separate suites with friends but were offered a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment instead when we arrived. It was spacious and ideal for friends or family to all stay together and no shared bathroom. !
They provided a plug in mosquito repellent as well. The apartment had a very large lounge and kitchen. You had tea and coffee making a facilities and in addition to the main Fridge there were mini fridges in each room. We didn’t actually do any catering in our room - we would have needed to ask for plates etc as there was none in the apartment ; which I am sure they’d have provided if needed. The apartment over looked the pool and had lovely balcony with a couple of seats. Air con was controllable in each room to allow for different temp settings which was a bonus for us as we like sub zero rooms and our friends don’t.
We contacted the hotel prior to arriving and they had sent us a list of available tours. It therefore meant we didn’t have any worry about the sights we wanted to see and they booked a lovely English spearing guy Rit. We then had 3 separate day tours booked with them and it was faultless. On arrival they had the plan to hand and double checked all our requests and confirmed bookings. Trips available varied from half day sunrise at temples to full day tours and an air con mini bus depending on distances. We were provided with cold water throughout.
If we needed a tut tut then the hotel also had drivers available who would take us around Siem Reap. Often we could book return trips after eating.
Hotel is well located near the palace and either a short walk or tut tut ride to the main bars and restaurants.
Pool is lovely. Staff attend to you and there’s a poolside bar. The loungers have umbrellas and the pool is relaxing after a hot day out.
There was not an on-site spa - I suspect since COVID but staff recommended a local spa that was excellent and a tut tut driver took us and came back to collect us when finished.
Breakfast was great. We had paid to have included and it’s worth it. They even provide a packed up breakfast for that ‘sunrise’ Angkor trip and it was just what we needed.
Restaurant on site - good food , attentive staff and enjoyable if you don’t want to venture out.
Laundry - whilst there isn’t a launderette to use there is the ability to drop of laundry at reception and it’s returned later clean via a local company.
We would definitely stay there again. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
Its location is very convenient (5 minutos walking to Pub Street/Night Markets and literally in front of the Made in Cambodia’s Market).
The room was very spacious and nice and so were the common areas, specially the pool and outside bar. Very good breakfast. Extremely nice and helpful staff.
I would absolutely recommend staying in this hotel!
My husband and I have recently stayed at Koulen Hotel for 12 nights. It was a wonderful experience, it felt like home away from home.
We have chosen this hotel because they offer large suites rather than small rooms, which was important for our longer stay. Also the suites have a kitchen, so if you are tired or the weather is bad or you don't feel like going out for dinner for whatever reason, you can cook, fix a sandwich or eat a bowl of cereals. (Nearby Lucky Mall offers great shopping opportunities.) The suite was very comfortable and had all amenities one could wish for.
The hotel has a beautiful pool and a gym if you wish to get some exercise.
The best thing about Koulen Hotel is the staff. They are very polite, friendly and helpful in all situations. Whenever we needed something, it was immediately taken care of.
The breakfast was very delicious, including different options like cereals, pancakes, freshly made omelettes, fried rice and other Asian dishes.
We had a wonderful time at Koulen Hotel and Siem Reap and hope to return someday.
This hotel is one of the best hotels in Cambodia. The overall staff are very friendly, kind and extremely helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay and experience one that you will never forget. If there is something you need, or would like, all you have to do is ask them and they will do everything they can to make it happen. Their service is comparable to the Executive
Lounge at the Conrad Hotel in Bangkok.
Also, the rooms were great, very large with a full kitchen. They have a big beautiful pool that Was wonderful to swim and relax in. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning and it was very good.
The hotel is in a prime location. There are many restaurants and shops within a couple of
minutes walking. It’s across the street from a mall which has normal amenities such as a grocery store, Starbucks, movie theater and some other shopping options.
But honestly, the best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. All
employees we met were extremely friendly and helpful and attentive staff. Would name them all here but it would be too long of a list. If coming to Siem Reap, we would definitely recommend this hotel for either business or leisure.
Absolutely great experience. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful. Beautiful accommodations, great food and absolute first-class staff. Thank you for making our stay memorable & we'll be back surely. We will definitely come back to The Koulen again!
Great hotel in general, but the standout was the staff, especially kim.
Cheeky and smart. Deserves a promotion.
Pool was fine, location is pretty chill. Food was good, room was nice. Furnishing was minimalist.
Sorry for late review.
My friend and I spent 6 days here In April last year and we were not disappointed. The first surprise was our spacious room.Very clean and very modern. Air conditioning worked a treat. Buffet breakfast was great. Large variety of food. The pool area was lovely. With plenty of sun beds, tables and chairs. The pool bar offered a large variety including food, spirits, beer and cocktails.
The staff were friendly and very attentive. They went above and beyond for us. They helped us with any inquiries we had. They booked our tours for us were there to greet us with a cold towel and drink when we got back. Would highly recommend coming, I will definitely come back. Staff were fantastic.

Was there for 3 nights on last weekend. Hotel was reopened in a month . It was closed when the Covid19 was in the rise in Cambodia. Not many guests in the hotel during our stays. Mostly are locals . Booked a 3 bedroom apart-hotel . Spacious and cleaned. I guessed the Management took out all the bowls and plates for Covid19. So we had to asked for it . There are fridge , microwave, toaster, eating utensils, cooking utensils, 1 pot perfect for cooking instant noodle and 1 small non stick frying pan perfect for frying your eggs. Each bedrooms comes with a mini fridge and a complete set of making your own coffee n tea . Surprised to see that 1 bedroom has 2 queen sized bed. The other 2 rooms were a queen sized bed and spacious. Breakfast is ala carte during these period and served at Sala Cafe. Hotel is next to Heritage Mall and a short walk to Lucky Mall. Reception staff Sam ( sorry I forgot the name of another Male staff ie the Supervisor/Manager as he is not wearing the cream color uniform like Sam) and two of the staffs at Sala Cafe had been warm and friendly throughout our short stay.
Truly great experience. Beautiful hotel and great location. Walkable to pub street but far enough away to avoid the crowds. Starbucks around the corner. The staff was wonderful. Every single person was so kind and welcoming. Will definitely be back. Pool was nice and relaxing after a full day of walking around temples. Nice common areas and suites.
Friendly and helpful staff, room so huge and clean , good location with just walking distance to city . Easy to check in and out . They are so kind when give us free extra bed . 4 night with comfy bed make our relax after back from tour . With really hot weather outside , the room AC really help us . Btw... thanks to all staff, driver make our holiday so good.
My husband and I spent 7 days at the Koulen Hotel. It has a great location, a couple of minutes by foot from the centre and surrounded by supermarkets and two malls: The Heritage Walk and Lucky Mall. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby as well.
The hotel is new and small, and the gorgeous rooms are really large suites with a separate kitchen, dinning room and lounge, perfect for families and couples alike. Plus the price was unbelievably good!
The hotel also has a lovely pool and a small gym, which were prefect for us.
Breakfast buffet was excellent: fruits (mango, papaya, dragon fruit, watermelon and melon), coffee/tea/hot chocolate drink, fresh fruit juices, cereals and milk, breads and pastries, eggs to order, and other cooked food which we didn’t have.
We were greeted with smiles by Sam and the hotel driver at our arrival at Siem Reap Airport, and driven to the hotel swiftly and efficiently.
The best feature of the Koulen Hotel was the staff. They were attentive, polite, friendly, professional, and always smiling. They couldn’t do enough for you; truly some of the nicest staff we have ever met in our travels around the world. They were a delight!
We would like to thank Sam, Nora, Chen, Sa, Tith, Nita, Lon, Kim, and Bee, at Reception, Reak-Sa and everyone else at the breakfast area (we apologise for not remembering all your names), and all the lovely Housekeeping staff, and those at the hotel entrance. You all made our stay in Siem Reap truly unforgettable!
Stayed here recently and have nothing but positive feedback for the hotel.
The staff were super friendly and always willing to assist.
The rooms were fantastic! Huge bed, great balcony and the bathroom was also very good.
Pool and the pool bar were excellent.
We've spend 3 nights in Koulen Hotel with 2 kids. Place felt like private oasis but also in the heart of Siem Reap and close to everything. Rooms are spotless clean, modern and they are huge, as they are more like apartments, so you fell like at home not as in a typical hotel room.
Pool zone is really beautiful, space for kids and a very cozy bar. Restaurant is also decent but there are quite many good places around too. But mostly what makes a hotel memorable is the staff, they are young but professional, very honest and motivated, Mr Bee greates us at the airport and was there for us when we needed, also same as for other staff members in reception and breakfast.
We spent 3 days at the Koulen Hotel visiting Angkor Wat and the other temples. We had a very good time, it is an excellent hotel, with a very friendly atmosphere. Nita and all the staff took very good care of us, also preparing a surprising cake for our birthdays.
Very nice and clean hotel with a very relaxing pool area. The Stuff and service is beyond all expectations!!! Private touch and super welcoming, really make you feel like royalty.
The breakfast had lots of choices for different tastes. Great cocktails and food at the pool.
We were on our honeymoon and they treated us with a nice bottle of rose sparkling wine and fresh fruits every day. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a stress free vacation.
We booked the 3-bedroom suite at this hotel and had a fantastic stay here!
Service here was excellent throughout, and the staff really paid attention to the small details. For example, when we were out for dinner, they would make little adjustments to our room to prepare for the night (drawing the shades, dimming the lights, etc.). The welcome drink and fruit baskets, and the departure gifts were a really great touch.
Ms Lin was really great - she picked us up from the airport and helped us with various logistical arrangements during our stay. Mr Sam was also very helpful when someone in my party was unwell and needed medicine late at night - Sam very quickly made some phone calls and we were on our way to the nearest pharmacy by car.
Thanks for the birthday surprise too!!
The place was also next to Heritage Walk, a mall with everything you need (restaurants, supermarkets, etc).
We had such an excellent time and would highly recommend this hotel, and particularly the great staff!
Spent 8 days here and could easily have stayed another 8 we loved everything about this hotel our suite was perfect and cleaned twice a day to a really high standard .The staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble really good pool area to relax where we spent most of our time .close to the river and pub street couldn’t ask for more big thank you to all you wonderful people who looked after us so well during our stay if we return to Siem Reap we will be staying at The Koulen again
We are currently staying at the Koulen Hotel, the reviews are 100 % correct,it's a awesome hotel. The staff are so friendly and especially Ms Chew at reception, she is a first class host.
Look forward to staying again.
Duncan & Frances.
Australia.
My family of 5 just returned from a 4 night stay at Koulen Hotel.
The 3 bedroom apartment was spacious and the hotel was centrally located. It is within walking distance to many restaurants or short tuk tuk ride away.
What made the stay at Koulen Hotel unforgettable was the level of service by the staff. Ellie who received us at the airport deserves special mention. Not having told anyone about my birthday, the staff surprised me with a cake and a song!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
Awesome hotel for families. Staff are fantastic, breakfast is delicious with a huge selection to choose from. Happy hour lasts 4 hours and also there is complimentary wine tasting with nibbles every afternoon. Excellent value for money! Awesome service.
We just returned from the most lovely long weekend in Siem Reap. The hotel sent someone to collect us at the airport with cold water and a nice large van. The lady who greeted us was wonderful and filled us in on local information and information about the hotel. We requested a two bedroom, but stayed in a three bedroom so that one of the rooms would have two double beds for our kids. Each room has a bathroom with a lovely large shower with a rain head and great hot water. It was so nice to be able to wash off all the grime from a day at the temples. Water bottle were provided in the room. And it was nice to have a fridge available to keep cold water.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were provided in addition to toiletry items like soap and toothbrushes. There is a small but decent hairdryer attached to the bathroom wall.
There was no iron in our room, but I didn't ask, so they may have them on request.
Our reservation included a nice buffet breakfast and lunch. The lunches were a set menu with a couple choices for each course. The food was really wonderful. Both the Khmer and western options were so tasty. We also enjoyed everything we ordered for room service and especially enjoyed everything we ordered on the menu down at the pool.
The pool was lovely and the service at the pool was great. Lots of large towels and cheap drinks. A real oasis.
We used our own driver for all of the temple tours, but whenever we needed anything else they were quick to get us a tuk tuk which is only 2 dollars to just about everywhere. It is also a quick walk across the street for a grocery store, atm, Starbucks... at the lovely modern shopping mall.
My children had a great time and have already said they want to return to The Koulen Hotel!
We booked and stayed at Koulen Hotel for 5 nights. It was awesome!! The room was huge and very very comfortable. The staff were always so friendly and quick to help us whenever we needed them. The hotel is located close to everything and that makes it a great base to go exploring Siam Reap. Will definitely be back again soon.
My husband and I spent 7 nights at the Koulen hotel. We were greeted at the airport by the beautiful Chew, with an equally beautiful bunch of lotus flowers. From the very beginning we felt at home. The facilities were spotless, our room was huge and very comfortable. Chew couldn’t do enough to make our holiday so enjoyable. All the staff were amazing, Mr Keng the tuk tuk driver, lovely Kanaka, who helped at the poolside bar and restaurant, her boss, who guided her with care and professionalism and made our visits to the restaurant something to look forward to, unfortunately I can’t remember his name.Breakfast was fresh and the choice was amazing. The location was perfect for exploring Siem Reap. We will definitely be back and while there seems to be a huge choice for accommodation, we couldn’t go past the Koulen.
Once again thank you Chew for all your care
Joanne and Rob
The staff at this hotel was terrific. Everyone was helpful and professional. I booked a guide for an Angkor Wat tour. Sam helped me with the details and went above and beyond. My guide was a nice guy named Da. His English and photography skills were excellent. I would highly recommend him, he’s worth every cent. The hotel is in a very good location, close to everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
We loved stay at the Koulen Hotel. The staff is beautiful, helpful, so kind and sweet! We truly recommend this hotel, AMACING!!! The pool is very nice, the food and drinks are great. The rooms are big and fantastic! Special love to miss Kim! Thank you Koulen Team, you are awesome!!
I booked this hotel without much expectations but I left it with enormous wish to come back. It’s absolutely fantastic in every sense: staff, rooms, gardens and best pool ever. Everyone in the hotel is so nice and always helpful. The free transport to and from the airport was a plus. Big kudos for Ms Kim and everyone else.
The staff here make this a wonderful place to stay. They are all so helpful and kind with smiles. The room we were in was so huge and spacious. This would be perfect for a long stay or a family. Our room had cooking facilities as well as plates etc so you could purchase and prepare in your room. You can walk into the mall from the hotel. It is very near everything. We had a taxi driver Mr. Sok and a tour guide Mr. Chei they were referred to us by the hotel and made our stay even better. They were both very kind and knowledgeable. We had them for longer than they were hired for and they did not complain. They took us to some wonderful places.
My wife and I stayed at Koulen for 2 nights. Great room, very nice facility, terrific location. But, it was the staff that was world class. They were so friendly, extremely helpful, and made us feel like welcome guests in their home. Wonderful people, five star service. Absolutely loved this place. Highly recommended.
From the minute we were picked up at the airport by Mr Sok the whole experience was 5 star. We were greeted at the foyer by genuine and sincere staff led by Mr Chen, room upgraded immediately and shower around the hotel.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable (not 100% 5 star).
Breakfast was a delight, great food, nice atmosphere and lovely attention to detail.
The large outdoor pool is a major bonus surrounded by beautiful gardens and an outdoor bar.
We were lucky to have Mr Sok, our driver escort us to Angkor Wat and the floating village. Very friendly, good English and a pleasure.
The ladies at the front desk organised mountain bikes, with ease (only $8 per day) which was awesome in that we didn't have to handover our passports.
Location is excellent with a short walk or tuk tuk to pub street area.
Night noise was not a problem and we felt extremely safe walking around even at night.
We would recommend the Koulen Hotel and Siem Reap to anyone looking for an amazing holiday. We want to go back now!

I travelled to Siem Reap for a relaxing solo weekend after a long week at work. The rooms were much larger than I expected which was nice. Great amenities and food was lovely. I have to say the staff are what made my stay most memorable. They were so lovely and helpful. Went out of their way to make my stay a fantastic one. I would highly recommend!
I had a wonderful stay at Koulen Hotel in Siam Reap. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was clean, the rooms were large. Everything was kept up very nicely One staff member named Chew was exceptionally helpful every day. She recommended fantastic restaurants, help with directions and reservations. I highly recommend this hotel.
Great staff. Miss Chew at reception was fantastic throughout the whole stay. Super friendly staff everywhere. Modern and contem design. Super spacious and clean rooms. Quite location but central too. Great pool. Big breakfast buffet. Literally all you can have hi k of. Everything you really want. Overall fantastic value for money.
No doubt a debatable point .... but to me this is Number 1 and I have stayed at many!! There may be some hotels that have opulence and features superior, but do they have the overall package !!
Location is excellent. Not to far from Pub St (10 min walk) but close enough away.
Staff are fabulous. At every level they are friendly and there to make your stay a pleasurable experience. Even with a turn down service that freshens the room around dusk.
Facilities. New gym, fairly basis but quality equipment. Swimming pool is fabulous with lots of grass.
Restaurants are great. Breakfast area is extraordinarily pleasant overlooking pool area and there Sala Restaurant offers food at the highest level. Wow factor.
And last but not least the rooms... outstanding .... like living in s small apartment. Huge and comfortable.
First class hotel
Oh everything, the staff were courteous, considerate, attentive and had a sense of humour... the room or should I say ‘suite’ (with 2 bathrooms) was wonderful ... oh and lest I forget the pool area is just superb, with food and drink on tap should you desire...the area the hotel was in is lovely just a short walk from the palace, you can take a walk along the river, and a little further out is the ‘old market’ full of restaurants and bars and shops... the hotel restaurant, whilst it lacks atmosphere serves up some splendid beautifully cooked food ... and all of this at a most reasonable price... a must if your in Siem Reap ‘TOP JOB ALL ROUND
Very friendly and super efficient staff with a smile on their face always.
Great breakfast, clean poolside, well designed serviced apartments. A mall and a supermarket just across.
Overall a great place and area to stay
This was my first time visiting Cambodia and I am so glad to have experienced the lovely accommodations and warm and welcoming staff at Koulen. The property is beautifully appointed and the team is extremely polite and helpful in every way.
My daughter gave me the trip for my birthday and upon arrival we were greeted with a wonderful birthday surprise...a lovely cake and “Happy Birthday” song from the staff.
Koulen is a jewel and truly a home away from home.
I can't say anything bad about this place. The facilities are brilliant, rooms very large with comfortable beds with a great shower head in the bathroom. The staff are all brilliant and the food is great.
Really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Koulen. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our 2 bedroom unit was massive! Huge lounge/ dining plus kitchen which we didn’t use! The bedrooms were lovely and bed super comfy. Beautiful bathroom. We loved the pool area. Beautiful gardens with an amazing pool. We walked to local restaurants in the old French Quarter for dinner. Highly recommended.
AMAZING HOTEL
We got a massive luxurious two bedroom suite for a very good price. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is 10/10 honestly been so happy here and I extended 2 extra days because I liked it so much!
This hotel exceeded all my expectations, from the staff to the food to the facilities. The room was huge and immaculately clean, the pool area was beautiful, the staff were incredibly warm and accommodating, the location was very central, all day happy hour was pretty awesome as well! ;-) I would be more than happy to stay there again.
This hotel is very new! Beautiful people too specially Thida, Tith, Nate, Song, Ellie, Takako and the driver Mr. Lee thank you and really nice talking to you all! Big plus the hotel offer a room is so huge i cant compare to other hotels at Siem Reap, so nice stayed! Ambience so great! In some part is still empty but once this complete this hotel going to be watch for! Favorite place is the pool area with small bar. Location is walkable to Pub Street market. But if you lazy to walk 2$ for tuktuk! Also newly open mall and Zandro shop at 2nd floor must see haha for shopping just few steps to the hotel. Highly recommended! I’ll be back soon ????
We have been travelling for 3 weeks visiting 5 countries and this hotel was leaps and bounds ahead of every other property we stayed in.
The staff in the hotel helped make it the highlight of the trip.
They helped organise an amazing trip to the temples that we wanted to see. They organised an amazing in house cooking demonstration with the head executive chef who brought us to a local food market to buy supplies with him. Nothing was too much for hotel.
We were a group of 4 people and all of us cannot recommend the hotel enough. If you are visiting Siem Reap, stay in this hotel.
A big thanks to me Ms Chew and all the staff for everything! We will be back.
The youth of Cambodia are alive and well. Through the adversity of their past they have emerged with hope.
Everywhere I went I was greeted with a smile and willingness to communicate. The staff at Koulen are the loveliest people and all willing to help and reach out
Arrived first thing Monday morning warmly greeted by hotel staff Miss Chew. Driven straight to the hotel 15 minute drive from the airport, smooth check in process and allowed to not only check in early but also have hotel breakfast on arrival with a good selection of Asian and Western options.
Our room, a 2 bedroom apartment for the 4 of us was enormous, clean and cool. We were truly spoilt.
The pool and poolside cocktails went down an absolute treat, we were warmly greeted every time we walked through the hotel lobby and the staff were always happy to help with anything needed.
Location was perfect for us, easily walking distance to the main strip, for those wanting to take it easy, tuktuks always available the moment you walk outside.
Definitely rate Koulen Hotel 10/10, would return here without a doubt!
Absolutely loved our stay at the Koulen Hotel.
Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for accomodation in Siem Reap.
We were travelling with a large family group but we were all made to feel so special at all times.
The accomodation was beautiful. Very modern.
Rooms and ensuites which were well maintained at all times.Spotless.
Beautiful pool and outside surroundings.
The meals provided were also of an excellent standard.
The staff were wonderful. So friendly and obliging.
A very special thanks to the following amazing staff who made our stay so special..
Seyha,Sai,Ellie,Chew,Ninta,Kim,Chen,Sompeas and Chon.
We will definately be back ! ????
Our family’s privilege to have spent one full month in Koulen Hotel. Such a long and perfect stay because this is a marvelous place in all and every aspects.
Location wise it is perfect and convenient, walkable distance to many places- malls, restaurants and bars, spa, money exchange, shops.
The staff, reception, room service, management, security have always been so nice and friendly to us, never failing to serve and help us when we needed, amazing people, really.
Rooms are nice and spacious, equipped with kitchen, separate living rooms, many power and USB sockets in wall for device recharging and strong WIFI bandwidth.
Very nice pool, garden and outdoor bar for lazy afternoons.
A varied and good selection for breakfast buffet.
The best part of our long stay here was the hotel staff who never failed to greet us, remember our names and our preferences, ever helpful and extra kind to our toddler. We cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who is planning to visit Siem Reap.
We miss all the lovely people in Koulen very much and Heka wants to come and say hello soon!
Our visit at the Koulen Hotel was made that much better by the super lovely staff that took care of us from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. They were extremely helpful and thoughtful, going above and beyond to surprise my mum for her birthday. The cleanliness was also immaculate as the staff cleaned our apartment twice a day. We have no complaints about anything- food was great at breakfast, hotel was nice and had a warm, homey feel to it and of course the lovely staff which created the atmosphere
Booked this hotel through booking.com for 6 nights and I sent some basic requests for quite room which away from family’s room, extra clothes hanger, pillow and I informed them that Im having severe allergy to dust. The reservation Supervisor who replied my email seems not accomodative enough and I was about to cancel the reservation here since the requests were basic and doesn’t required extra cost. But finally, the request were granted and we keep the reservation.
Our reservation included the pick up transportation from the airport. We were greeted by Tida and once we reached the Hotel, we were served the welcome drink. Tida was very informative, she explained to us about the features of the Hotel, the things around the Hotel, options for tour arrangement, etc which really helps us a lot since this is our first time to visit Cambodia.
Breakfast has a good Food varieties which can cater all the guest nationalities. Their croissants were delicious and it bakes perfectly, Hands up for the Pastry Chef! We were look after really well by Charm and he’s always willing to assist.
We decided to book the tour through the Hotel, both Ninta and Kim were very helpful in explaining the details of the tour and which tour suits better for us. We really appreciate for their assistance.
The Location of the Hotel in the city center and it’s really closed to Heritage walk shopping mall and any other entertainment places such as traditional market, Lucky mall, etc.
Overall, we really enjoyed out stay at Koulen Hotel because the Hospitality, service and courtesy which was showed from Front Liner’s staffs. Once again, thank you for an amazing stay! ????
I’ll start with the Airport pick up. They were on time and we were greeted by one of the hotel staff who gave us a bottle of water each and provided some great commentary on the way to the hotel.
The location is very central and walking distances to the markets and pub street.
At check in we were provided a welcome drink and given an overview of the hotel before being taken up to our room.
The room was amazing and super spacious at 80sq metres. It was super comfortable and we felt very relaxed as we settled in.
The staff were very attentive and were always excited to see us and hear about the adventures we had been up to.
The cocktails by the pool were fantastic and well priced and this made relaxing in the pool so much more comfortable.
Breakfast is really good and make sure you indulge in the local cuisine as it is pretty awesome.
To wrap up a wonderful stay we were give a gift of a scarf on checkout.
We loved our stay here and couldn’t recommend Hotel Koulen higher.
Hotel very well located.
Spacious and clean rooms, very nice pool with excellent restaurant.
The staff is smiling and efficient. Special mention for the directors of the hotel. A particularly kind, considerate and very endearing couple.
We had the executive suite, it was huge.
In the end, excellent value for money.
The Koulen was the perfect place to stay in Siem Reap. It is spacious and welcoming. The swimming pool was ideal for cooling down after a day touring temples. It is a great size and the gardens around it are beautiful. The staff couldn’t be kinder or more helpful and speak excellent English. The rooms are huge with lots of storage space. Yes, the cupboards in the kitchens are unstocked; but who is going to cook when such delicious food is available so cheaply all around? Right next door is the Heritage Walk mall where there is a buffet style restaurant where you can get 2 dishes for $2.50.
GREAT resort, staff were so so wonderful and friendly. Rooms gorgeous, clean, cool and well thought out! Pool was wonderful atmosphere and great buy on get one free happy hour...LOVED EVERYTHING.... thanks Koulen until next time!!!
My family stayed here in July for a week. The hotel is truly excellent, great rooms large for family of 4, fantastic pool and high quality food offering. The best part was the staff, all of whom made us feel very welcome. Great location and easy access to everything in Siem Reap. Highly recommend
Our family stayed here for a week in June and were treated to a beautifully-designed three-bedroom apartment for a very reasonable rate. The buffet breakfast was diverse and delicious and the chef was able to cater to allergies of two of our family-members and make gluten-free bread and pancakes for us daily. The pool and gardens were well cared for and the bar staff were adept at Long Island Iced Teas and other cocktails. The front desk team were engaging and delightful and very helpful with transportation and other advice. We especially recommend the driver, Matel, attached to the hotel for his careful driving and knowledge of Cambodia. An easy stroll into downtown Siem Reap, roughly three blocks from Pub Street. A highly enjoyable stay, thank you.
Just spent 3 nights at the Koulen hotel, and can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! Perfect location, super friendly staff (Miss Chew ????), and the rooms are stunning! We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it is like being in a small house, so much room. Very clean too. The pool is perfect to escape the heat, and the breakfasts at the restaurant very nice. You can easily walk to Pub street and the markets, but if your feet are wary it’s only $2 or $3 in a tuk tuk. Highly, highly recommend this hotel!
Found this gem from internet and surprised to be a Super one in Siem Reap. $84 per night with breakfast ! The varieties of the breakfast probably not too many but acceptable. Nice room with all necessities. Bed is clean and comfy .. rooms come with balcony that you can enjoy the pool view. The pool was great and enjoy your hot day dipping into the pool with 1 for 1 drinks.. worth a stay. I encountered my lost phone after returning from dinner on the tut tut, it was a helpful reception try their way to find it and accompany me on the tut tut to search for it.. finally found it.. they even remember my name and greeted me every time I stepped inside the hotel! It is within 10 mins walk to the pub street that you can enjoy a night out there! Good time here!
Cannot fault this hotel for its hospitality and superb service. May is a low season in Siem Reap but maybe due to this, it’s less crowded and much more pleasant. I rarely write review of hotels but felt I will do it for this one. Very satisfying 3 nights stay and the pool is refreshing under the May heat in Angkor Wat. Only 20 mins from airport with hotel pickup, our trip started fuss free. Major attractions are all within short tuk tuk ride, so no issue to central location, local mall within 5 mins walk is also very convenient. Welcome drink on arrival & fruits in room. We stayed in the spacious family suite which I cannot fault at all. Comfy bed and very good space. Good value for money & highly recommended. Their staffs are always on hand to offer greetings & happy to help. They recommended very good dinner restaurants Chandray Si & Viroth which were excellent! Breakfast selection is very good, & they even packed our breakfast for our morning sunrise ???? tour... Easily one of my best stays in a long while & felt welcomed and enjoyed it tremendously. Will definitely loved to stay again if I ever visit Siem Reap again. Hope their staffs continue to service with a smile as they definitely put a smile to our short trip ! Thk U :)
We enjoyed 3 nights at Koulen hotel with our family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Our 2 bedroom apartment was a great size and we enjoyed the pool and the buffet breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Koulen hotel. The hotel was the perfect size, not too large and provided more personal attention .Staff of the Koulen Hotel is amazing. They were very friendly and did help in anyway they could. They Surprised my mother with a birthday cake and song. Spacious rooms, fantastic pool and awesome staff that went above and beyond to make us feel at home.We had a 2 room 2 bath condominium with dining room, living room, and kitchen. It was almost brand new and right across the street from the hotel there is a mall with shops and restaurants. The Air conditioner was great,Great breakfast and Fantastic location. The hotel in a quiet street, it takes 10-15 minute walk or 5 mins tuk tuk ride to night market/ pub street. A highly recommended hotel, we were extremely happy with all aspects.
Koulen Hotel in Siem Reap is an excellent centrally located establishment. Superb customer service was provided by a friendly and accommodating staff. All of our needs were attended to including providing us with a delightful to-go breakfast for our sunrise Angkor Watt trip. Convenient car service to and from airport. Easy availability of tuk tuks to take us wherever we needed to go. We were sad to leave. Highly recommend this establishment.
One note, I booked my accommodations through AirBnB which cost us 40% increase in the roomrate for absolutely no value added. I recommend booking directly with the hotel through Trip Advisor.
We will be echoing most of the other reviews. This hotel is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in. The rooms are spacious and having a kitchenette is very convenient. The pool is lovely and a great place to cool off. Breakfast is very good, lots of selection, hot and cold. The location is excellent, you can walk to the royal palace gardens and pub street. Lots of restaurant and market choices around. Absolutely the highlight is the staff. We spent a month in Cambodia and spent a lot of time talking to the people there. Everyone we met worked a minimum of 6 days a week, most work 7. Many also attend classes at night. The staff here are no different. Yet, they are consistently warm and friendly and very helpful and very genuine. We can’t say enough good things about them.
spacious room, excellent service ( although we asked sandwiches for breakfast box, but they gaves us normal one instead) ,breakfast tasty with lots of choices, everything just perfect, highly recommend!
We were given a great airy 3-bedroom/en-suite family apartment overlooking the pool and gardens in this small, boutique hotel only a hop, skip and a jump from the royal residence and nearby park. The service was excellent, with all the staff taking a personal interest in what you were doing and how they could help. In no time they were tuned to our needs sorting out personalised tours, anticipating drinks orders and providing incredibly high standard local and western food. It felt like we were the only family there they were so attentive.
We stayed at Koulen Hotel for 4 nights, which was the perfect amount of time to see temples and relax by the pool as well. The hotel is staffed fully by Cambodian locals- mostly young. The hotel is fantastically located in a side street just 2 mins walk from the Central Park of Siem Reap. Only a short tuk tuk ride from night markets/pub street. The hotel has large central family rooms. We had 2 rooms, but apparently there are “apartments” with three to four rooms. Breakfast buffet was great and many options. Pool was lovely- although warm at times. Would highly recommend hotel if staying in Siem Reap.
A highly recommended hotel, we were extremely happy with all aspects. The family apartment was spacious and perfect for us. Secure, staff are friendly and helpful, awesome pool and the breakfast buffet is outstanding. A 10 out of 10 experience.
We are currently staying at the Koulen Hotel and we are having the most amazing time. The breakfast is very good with a large selection to suit everyone. The hotel is very clean and spacious and the staff are extremely helpful. Everyone is so friendly and kind. My children (11 and 13) absolutely love the pool. Pub street is a short walk away and there are many good restaurants around. We found "The Golden Pumpkin" and "Try Me" the best. The rooms here are huge and the TV has Netflix which you can log into if you have an account! We would highly recommend this hotel. I would also recommend the Triple A Cambodian Adventures (bike ride and boat trip). It was our most favourite day out.

We spent 4 days in total in Koulen Hotel. Is is very convinieniently located is quiet spot very close to nice restaurants and convince shops. Staff was absolutely amazing welcoming us every day with genuine smile. We also booked all trips to see the temples using hotel service. Thank you for having us and see you next time!
The whole stay was great , all staff incredibly friendly and accommodating made the whole family welcome and comfortable. A special mention to the head chef , proud of his local product and cooking and willing to chat through the food.
My partner and I had been traveling around South East Asia and stayed here for three nights during our time in siem reap. The hotel was beautiful. The room was huge, with its own living area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. All of the rooms are set up like apartments, with their own balconies.
Full set of toiletries, towels, hairdryer etc all provided as standard. The rooms have everything you could possibly want.
The pool and garden area was our favourite place to hang out. It's a real sun trap and the pool is designed with large ledges on each side to just sit in the cool water, with two warm jacuzzi spaces, a paddling shallow space and other rocks and ledges. Plenty of deck chairs and an excellent bar - we literally spent the whole day there on our last day.
The hotel provides pick up and drop off from the airport or bus station. They also have their own tuk tuk drivers and set routes around the temples, which we took advantage of. Our driver was really lovely and it helped to make our day trips a fantastic experience.
All of the staff here are amazing. I'd like to say particular thanks to mss Chew, who has excellent English and helped us plan excursions and assisted us on several occasions. I'd also like to thank mss Sophoan and barman Chhang for also looking after us and making it such a wonderful experience.
The place attracts allot of families, because the rooms are set up as one, two or three bed apartments, so can have several bedrooms for family around one living room etc. Everyone is really sociable around the pool. It was a fantastic atmosphere and we made a few friends during our stay.
The hotel is owned by the same people who own the restaurant and show venue round the corner, which we went to one night. The dancing was really good, but the buffet wasn't as good as the food in the hotel!
The hotel food was exceptional. The breakfasts had loads of choice and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. On the last day we ate dinner at the poolside also. I wished we had known how good the food was was earlier - we would have eaten there more if we had known! We had a duck dish, which was mouth wateringly scrumptious. The executive chef, Mr Kim Matang, also visits people at breakfast and popped over after our dinner to check we were happy with everything - all of the staff are so keen to please and improve in any way they can.
On the day we left, the staff came out to wave us off. We were genuinely sad to be leaving. We had such a wonderful time. If we ever return to Siem Reap, it would be to just stay at Koulen again. We could have easily spent a whole week there, sipping cocktails in the pool and eating the delicious food.
This hotel is a 5* experience with fantastic staff, food, facilities and decor.
I can never rave about this hotel enough. My home away from home. Why? It ticks all the boxes, capped of by a team of staff that are like family. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the pool is first class, (although a few more deck chairs may help),the breakfast is one of the best going, location ideal (close to the town centre but just far enough away out of the mayhem, good gym and rooms are services twice daily … where does it get better!!!?? All capped off with a staff that truly want to provide a wonderful experience and are committed to making your stay a life time memory. They even snuck into my room on my birthday and surprised my with balloons and decorations... simply wonderful. I have stayed in many many Siem Reap hotels, and while some hotels exceed some certain aspects in isolation, Koulen Resort is the complete package. Love love love this hotel and the people that make it what it is.Wonderful.
My friend and I spent 6 days here and we were not disappointed. The first surprise was our spacious room. It had a large living area, a kitchen with a full size fridge, a king bed and large bathroom. Very clean and very modern. Air conditioning worked a treat. Buffet breakfast was great. Large variety of food. Something for everyone.
What a great bunch of people. A real credit to this hotel. I really can’t wait to come back.
We stayed at The Koulen Hotel for 5 nights whilst exploring Siem Reap and what an absolute delight. The staff were the most attentive and delightful we have experienced in South East Asia and absolutely loved kids! As a family of 6 we often struggle finding hotels to accommodate us. However the Koulen hotel with its apartment like rooms was an excellent set up for families. We had a three bedroom apartment, with a large living room which overlooked the pool. We noticed they also had four bedroom apartments which would be great if travelling with extended family. The location was brilliant. A $2 tuk tuk ride to pub street (although with 6 people we needed 2), or a 12 minute walk gets you to wealth of eating options. If you decided to stay put there is a recently opened mall across from the Koulen that has a variety of eating options plus the hotel also offers dining options (although we did not try this) .
The breakfast in the morning has a good selection of western and local fare which appealed to our kids.
The pool was a hit in the afternoon especially after long mornings exploring temples and countryside. We all loved the afternoon happy hour and the free poolside eats during this were a nice addition.
The absolute standout of our stay however was when the staff told the kids they wanted to surprise my husbfand for his birthday. When we returned to our room it was decorated beautifully with a handmade banner and flowers and a cake followed soon after by staff singing happy birthday. To us this was next level service especially as it had been initiated entirely by the staff.
We couldn't recommend this hotel high enough especially for families who need a bit more space. The Koulen Hotel will not disappoint!
Very new hotel with spacious, comfortable and clean suites equipped with basic kitchen. Fantastic pool area and the food in the restaurant and at breakfast was very good. Best feature though was the staff who are all very friendly and attentive.
Our family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, and to say we were happy with this stay would be an understatement.
Our suite (2 bedrooms, separate living area and kitchen) was enormous and clean. Beds were very comfortable and the 2 bathrooms were lovely with great showers.
The pool area is a gorgeous haven to rest after hot and crowded trips to Angkor sites. The staff are the friendliest, the most attentive crew I’ve ever met. They genuinely offer you every type of service of help you need.
They also provide free pick up service from the airport (in a modern a/c vehicle), which is very much appreciated.
Right next to the hotel, there is a modern shopping mall with restaurants, cafes, bakery and our favorite, Zando :)
Simply put, everything with the hotel was fantastic, cannot recommend it highly enough!
Thank you to all the staff,
from Ro family :)
Above and beyond hospitality. Especially by Ms Chew and Ms Ellie but everyone was extremely helpful and kind. We were blown away. We were meant to have a private living room but due to a glitch in the system, we didn’t but it was not a big deal at all. They gave us free massages and transfer to the airport as well as a late check out. Completely impressed by quality of hotel and service.
Spent 6 nights at the end of a 6 week stay in Cambodia we were in a one bedroom suite which comprised of a huge living area with open plan kitchen including hob and microwave and all kitchen utensils, large flat screen tv,settee, breakfast bar, dining table and chairs all you would need to cater for yourself if you wish.
The bedroom is also a good size with very comfortable super king size bed another tv,tea/coffee making facilities, fresh fruit on arrival, excellent air con and WiFi throughout.
The suite has 2 full size bathrooms with walk in shower and free toiletries out side the balcony is long and thin with 2 sets of table and chairs with an excellent view of the pool (Not all rooms overlook the pool).
The pool is like the room very large with a plenty of sun loungers, pool towels provided and pool bar serving food and drinks.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the ground floor overlooking the pool it is buffet style with all manner of choices for all tastes all prepared by very good and friendly staff.
The hotel location is just a ten min walk from pub street and all manner of shops and restaurants if you don’t fancy walking the new Heritage walk entertainment centre is just across the road with shops and places to eat.
To sum up the Koulen hotel is a exceptionally clean very good hotel in a great location with staff who are a credit to the Siem Reap hotel business and the management should be proud of everyone for there kind and considerate attitude to customers.
Would definitely return in the future.
We had the good fortune to book the Koulen hotel for a 6 nights stay in Siem Reap. Based on the pictures and reviews we were looking forward to a pleasant stay. Upon arrival at the airport a tuktuk driver appeared with our name for the 15 minute drive to the hotel. Location is excellent, about 10 minutes walk to the city ( pub street) or a $1 tuktuk drive away:)
There are two good supermarkets within 3 minutes walk located on the big street. National Museum and Royal Palace just around the corner. We were told that are room was not available, but that starting the day after we would get the room we booked. Everybody makes mistakes, but its the way they are solved that matter. Guest relations did an excellent job on that. Rooms are spacious, with a big refrigerator and couch group. Bed are very comfortable and the whole place was immaculately clean. Lovely pool to enjoy after warm day of sight-seeing. Breakfast has a good spread, with egg dishes on request and a lot of choice in Asian and European fare. But the staff tops it all, always friendly, greeting and offering assistance. Ms. Theony is the jewel in the crown, friendly, chatty and with a genuine interest in her guests. I highly recommend this place.
to stay, after long walking in Angkor Wat. Netter Empfang, Hilfe wird immer angeboten. Bett mit guter Matratze - sehr wichtig!!! Badezimmer grosszügig. Service is fine, with cake in the afternoon, beautiful Pool, excellent breakfast, with fresh noodle soup, french bakery, fresh fruit... all what your heart can wish... alles fein!!!
I have just stayed for 4 nights with my wife and can highly recommend to anyone. There was a slight overbooking issue which meant we had to move rooms on the 2nd day, but that aside everything was perfect. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and clean, the pool excellent and the best thing of all was the staff, so friendly and helpful. Thank you
We enjoyed a two night stay at Koulen Hotel, starting with a very welcome free airport pick up (van) after a long flight and they had a room ready for an early check-in which we really appreciated. The room itself was very comfortable though the separate lounge area was sparse and even though there was a kitchenette, there were only a few plates & knives so not actually a functional kitchen.
Lots of choice available for breakfast. Hotel organised tuk tuk tour of the temples for $18 which was an excellent experience.
Koulen's highlights are it's friendly staff and a lovely pool, outdoor bar & garden.
Decided to visit Siem Reap and its temples with my husband for a long weekend and chose Koulen Hotel because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The location is great - walking distance from the night market and the pub street but still quiet enough area during the night. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. They took care of organising a Tuk-Tuk for our daily tours around the temples but also to the airport and back. They gave us great restaurant recommendations too. Would stay at Koulen again if going back to Siem Reap.
We are very happy staying in Koulen hotel Siem Reap.
The staff ( reception - pool - cleaning - kitchen ) were very nice, helpful and kind. Whenever we needed help they did their very best always with a big smile.
Also the driver, mister Rayu, we can recommmend you. He showed us around the city and 2 tours outside the city. He was very friendly and helpful and driving safe.
Thanking to everybody in this hotel and make us very happy during our holiday.
Peter ???????? & Panya ????????
We stay other hotel in siem rep but koulen very very good.for a few extra dollar,we realy enjoy, even when we change hotel because it was full.we go back for eat relax and chill. The staff in reception nita and co take very good care,Food was delicious and pool area so nice.room luxury big space.we love very much. From the manager, kitchen, reception, all the staff exelent.Thank you so much.will come again.and location perfect for us.
Had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. The entire staff are most gracious and hard working. The location was away from the old market which meant it was quieter. This hotel is across the street from a shopping plaza and many restaurants. Great value for all the amenities offered.
My first time to Siem Reap and my stay at Koulen Hotel is definitely the most right choice in this trip! Cozy environment, good hotel facilities and most importantly very friendly and helpful staff which made our stay a very memorable and pleasant one!!!!!! Especially we want to thank staff Hoeng Seyha for his dedicated work and wholehearted caring which made us so touching and we will definitely return if we visit Siem Reap again!!!!! Enjoyable stay here!!!!!
I was staying here 3 nights It was wonderful place, they host me as home and the room was awesome. Ms. Ellie she had arranged tour for me to the temple and I had a great experiences with guide(Lee) He explanes very well about history in the past.
This is a new a new hotel just running a year ago, and all staff here are friendly and helpful. They are keen to give all the information we needed. The room is very clean and comfortable.
Ellie is the assistance front office always says hello and welcome with a big small all the time.
The swimming pool are so clean and interesting for cool us after the heat from the sun. Highly recommend to stay here.
The team of service representatives with Koulen Hotel are incredibly warm. They make efforts to know your name and greet you by your name every time you come through the main doors. Always a smile on their faces, and always enquiring about your experience/day, literally felt like home away from home.
Rooms: we got a 4 bedroom unit with a huge patio outside. Wonderful for families with children, so the children have some outdoor space within the same level to play. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Comparatively, the television seems small for the space. The air conditioning takes some time to cool in the afternoons, but understandable given the size of the space. By the bedside, each room offers a USB plug option to charge devices, so you don’t necessarily need to bring an adaptor for phones and such. Basic toiletries are provided for, including a comb, shaver, sewing kit and shower cap. Hairdryers are provided in the toilet.
Facilities: The pool was pretty average sized given there are 66 units at Koulen. At no point did the pool feel crowded, but I’m not clear how occupancy was when I stayed there. Gym equipment was limited, but sufficient to get in a quick workout. I stayed 3 nights but never saw anyone at the gym during my stay. There is a lot of space to lay a mat and do yoga tho.
Location: USD2 away from Pub street by tuktuk and USD3 away from the night market across the river by tuktuk. A evening walk to pub street should take 15-20mins depending on your speed and is an estimated 700m away. It is convenient, and nicely off the main areas so the hotel is always quiet and tranquil. It is also located next to the newest mall in Siem Reap, Heritage Walk and just in front Lucky Mall. Awesome location in my opinion.
Definitely the kind of place I’d return to.
Rooms and facilities are amazing, specially the swimming pool which our kids enjoyed a lot.
But the most important and remarkable thing was the warm and lovely staff like Kimsong, Cheng, Tida, Page and Chew (sorry I do not remember the names of others but all the team is wonderful).
They made feel us like at home.
During Chinese New Year, there were so many decorations in the hotel. Thanks for all the staff. From the pick up service, they were nice and introduced us lots of restaurant or place to visit. We had the 2 bedroom suite, it was so big!!! Highly recommend for the traveler with family!
Looking forward to going back once again.
We stayed in the Koulen Hotel for 7 nights and had a perfectly fantastic time. The room was incredibly spacious, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We hope to return to the hotel again in the future.
We have stayed in the Koulen in February for 4 days, the Koulen is apparently less than 1 year old. Very spacious room, in easy walking distance to Pub Street and where everything in happening in the evenings. Breakfast was fine although we thought they could offer a better fruit juice. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. It is not the first time we have been in Siem Reap, next time we travel there the Koulen will definately be our choice to stay.
Everything about the Koulen hotel is what you need when visiting Siem Reap.
It is a short and inexpensive tuck tuck ride from the centre of town and therefore a restful and peaceful place to stay.
Very varied breakfasts to suit all tastes.
There are a few nearby restuarants and supermarkets.
The pool and gardens are lovely and all of the staff are without exception extremely friendly.
From the courtesy taxi pick up from the Airport to the return hotel Taxi to the airport the entire visit was excellent.
Thankyou for a really lovely visit!
We spent 2 nights in this absolutely perfect located nice hotel, good value for money and fantastic staff, especially Sophoan and Chew!????
Nice big and very clean rooms!
Walking distance to most of the nice restaurants and the river and Pub Street...
We highly recommend it!????????
The Koulen hotel was located in the centre of town close to the president palace and museum. It was a 20 minute walk to “Pub Street” where everyone goes at night. Not that anyone walks because tuk tuks are everywhere and cost $2 - don’t pay any more.
The hotel rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was truely 5 staff. The staff were fantastic and took care of everything. We really enjoyed our stay and long to return.
All the class of a 5 star resort in a relatively small and boutique hotel.
Fantastic stay at the Koulen hotel.
We spent 3 nights in a big superior room, with a kitchen and living room.
This hotel is well located, 10-15 min away by foot from Pub st (2$ with a Tuk-Tuk). The employees are all very welcoming, friendly, respectful and very polite. They are very helpful to book any service, activity or restaurant table.
Nice and big room, modern, very clean. Only negative point: le street side is very noisy, ask to be located with pool view if possible.
Very nice swimming pool and garden with a bar.
Great breakfast buffet.
We didn’t try the restaurant.
We stayed here for 4 nights and were really impressed with the hotel and its staff. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The staff were extremely helpful and considerate. The pool area was great and the they did a great breakfast. A perfect place to stay to explore Siem Reap
Room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfy. Nice breakfast and lovely pool. Excellent services. Well-located - 15 min walk to Pub Street (or USD2 Tuktuk). Koulen is able to arrange car and driver to take you to sightseeing and have a list of different options to suit the guest's need. Special compliment to our driver, Sok. He is helpful and speaks good English (he can also speak mandarin and korean). Hotel staff are attentive and polite.
· We were glad that hotel offered free pick-up from airport but would prefer car instead of tuktuk. Suggest the hotel make it clear to the guest and allow them to choose for a car pickup at extra cost.
Stayed here for 4nights and 5 days. Beautiful apartments. We had booked 3 bedroom apartment with a spacious living room with kitchen and dining area. Which apparently we never used. Something that is required is Air conditioning - and that was super. We had trouble the first day for one bedroo. But got fixed promptly. Thank you for that.
Bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable.
The hotel is very centrally located. We were close to the pub street- about 15minutes walking and 5 minutes by tuk-tuk. The lake side was close, night market and you name it and we were could reach within no time.
Clean and very friendly staff. They took care of our needs very well. A good breakfast os available - international as well as locals dishes were available.
We visited the wonderful Koulen for four nights over New Year. As three families with 7 kids aged between 9 and 14, each family took a three bedroom suite. We were lucky enough to have ours with a pool view although the ones facing the street were still quiet and peaceful.
The hotel is beautifully manicured. The pool is excellent and at least 20m long; good for some early morning laps. The rooms are amazing and the biggest I’ve ever stayed in. Poolside and room service food is top quality and by Singapore standards, everything is extremely good value.
But the stars of the show are the staff. From Ellie and Nate greeting us at the outset, to the beautifully courteous room staff, the team in the restaurant and the superstars behind the bar (Song, Khner and team making the best Margaritas in Southeast Asia), the staff of the Koulen are what make this a place to come back to.
Thank you to all the team at the Koulen, Siem Reap; you’ll be seeing us again.
We had spent 6 days in Siem Reap exploring Angkor Wat and surrounding area with 3 older kids age 11-12. We stayed in 2 bedrooms unit which was very spacious and clean. We were welcome since arriving till leaving. Ellie (guest relation manager) and all the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We arranged all our tour thru the hotel. Their drivers and tuk tuk drivers are very good and friendly. Ellie's recommendations for the tour, bike tour, and activities were excellent. The breakfast spread were plenty and well spread.
We would highly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and if we are going back, we will surely revisit the hotel again. Thank you for making our holiday in Siem Reap a wonderful experience.
We stayed for 8 nights at the Koulen Hotel and I enjoyed every moment of our stay. If we could get accommodation like this everywhere we travel I would be very happy!
1. The 2 bedroom apartment that we stayed in was very roomy and tastefully decorated. Each bedroom had a double bed and it’s own bathroom. There was also a large living area with sofa and TV, and a kitchen with a toaster, fridge, cutlery and some pots and pans (although we did not cook, given that the food on offer in Siem Reap generally is excellent). We also had a balcony with tables and chairs. They replenished our drinking water regularly.
2. The pool is large and gorgeous. It is very clean and there are plenty of lounge chairs and pool towels provided. It is also very easy to order drinks and/or food at the poolside.
3. The food at the restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced.
4. The buffet breakfast was also excellent - lots of choice and all the food was of good quality. This was included in our room rate.
5. It is very easy to arrange private tours at the Reception. This is what we did. The driver always arrived on time (or often early) and the tours were fairly priced compared with comparable tours on offer elsewhere in Siem Reap.
6. The staff we wonderful - always helpful and friendly.
7. The hotel is located in a lovely part of town, on an avenue lined with trees. The surrounding area is nice, not at all congested. It is a 10 minutes walk to the Pub Street/Central Market area, or you could get a tuk tuk there for $2 (although we regularly paid $3 at the start of our stay!).
I checked all the hotels in Siem Reap before visiting there, since I am so concerned about the comfortableness and luxury circumstances. Turned out it was fabulous!
Pool circumstances are ideal and good designing, heaven to me!!!!
Pool side chairs are well spaces, have privacy.
One hot tub and perfect temperature, amazing!
Several things that I feel sorry was that when I was sitting alone, staff was not coming to me to ask drink or food, but when I was sitting with my husband, staff was coming right away and ask if we need drink or food.
Actually I was waiting when one stuff was coming to the next people(two women), and I was going to ask the stuff to order, but the stuff went away even didn’t look at me, that is really regrettable. Hope they don’t judge one person won’t order any drink or food.
My enjoyment is to have a good time by the pool side.
Also the room is good but I expect patio. There is no photos about twin room suite.
Sound like double bed and side bed call twin bed. Side bed is hard mattress and make the room small. I didn’t need twin room if just add side bed to double room.
No view and no patio was disappointed.
But food are really good except breakfast. Breakfast is just $10, but I don’t recommend if you expect delicious food. I hope they raise the price and change to better taste and quality.
Over all it was so wonderful, I definitely go back next year!!
We were provided superb service throughout our stay at Koulen Hotel. Ellie at the front desk greeted us with a warm welcome on Day 1 and gave us plenty of guidance and information on tours & facilities available and this continued all the way til the last day when we left. We also appreciated having the same TukTuk driver, Mr Leng, throughout our stay for all relatively short trips, which helped a lot as we got to know each other well and felt like we have made a friend. Overall very touched by the service from the hotel staff and all topped with a spacious room, good breakfast and a nice pool area to relax in. The only suggestion for improvement is more provision of deck chairs by the pool to accommodate more guests at busy times.
Overview:
We have no complaints about this hotel. We arrived around noon hour and they were able to check us in. Our hotel room was bigger than our apartment in Vancouver with a balcony overlooking the pool, a large kitchen and living room with two bedrooms ajacent to the kitchen / living room area. This would be perfect for a group or family that needs more than one room. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the pool area was a welcome retreat after a day site seeing. Location was perfect.
Service:
The staff at this hotel were professional, spoke great English and were super accommodating of every need we had.
Prices:
The prices here were reasonable. No complains. Drinks by the pool were affordable and came with yummy snacks.
Location:
It is about 10-15 walking to the Pub Street area. Across the street there is a new shopping mall and the grounds of the royal palace are 5 minutes away. The temples are about 20 minutes drive away.
Tips:
- The hotel can book a driver for you to see the Temples, but if you want a guide make sure to book that separately.
- The hotel can arrange for breakfast boxes for you if you want to go watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat.
- We spent about USD $100 for two people per day. The withdrawl fee for cash is $5 so try to bring the right amount of money.
We had the most lovely stay at the Koulen Hotel. From the moment we walked in the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was beautiful and spacious with a lovely bathroom and large shower. The pool was beautiful and we received special service every step of the way - they even packed us a breakfast box to go for our early morning at Angkor Wat. This hotel was such an unexpected treat. We would highly recommend it.
We spent 4 nights here. My husband asked how I found this place— obviously on line but I forget why it jumped out after viewing many resorts. Now that we’re here I’m so glad!!!
We were met at the airport by the lovely Sophoan who charmed us. I understand the hotel used to be condos so there are fabulous kitchens and living rooms. Our first room did not overlook the pool so we changed rooms for the same price. The pool area is incredible. Spotless— they water the gorgeous plants and wash the windows every day. Blue tiles and mild salt water make the pool lovely. There are Outdoor showers and a striking cement mural with elephants. We had a busy and hot 3 days touring so to come back and enjoy drinks and the pool was heaven. The staff is amazing. Sophoan gave us Khmer scarves. We were so touched. The hotel is fairly new and there will be a spa but in the meantime they recommended Samathi spa—a 10 minute walk. It was fabulous. Speaking of fabulous— the breakfast. Anything you want. The hotel is on a quiet street but so close to the action of Pub street.
Our guide escorted us in after a hot day and we were greeted with towels and water. We stopped for drinks at other resorts and there were dark bars with teak. This is airy and bright and blue and pink. But it’s the staff that makes it so special. We are poolside right now with champagne waiting to head out to Hanoi. An oasis. Thank you Koulen staff.
Stayed here for 3 nights to do some temple exploring in Siem Reap. The hotel was really nice and the staff very friendly. It has a lovely pool and the rooms were tasteful and spacious. The tuk tuk driver that picked us up from the airport drove us around most of the week and was very helpful and reliable. Would recommend staying here.
We had a fantastic pumpered vaction here m, at the Koulen Hotel . A real treat . Highly recommended !!!! For us it's a luxury hotel but with mid range price .
New hotel . Very large and comfortable rooms . Beautiful garden and swimming pool . Very enjoyable breakfast . Great location . Amazing service by every staff member .
The Koulen hotel was our base for touring around the region with our tour guide Praim Hear (from "Angkor Visitor" , see separate review).
With Praim , we have visited a few stunning attractions . I've tried to review those places , here on TripAdvisor , but for some mysterious reason - some of the reviews were rejected by "TripAdvisor Team" . Make sure to visit the following MUST SEEs : Beng Mealea ; Bayon Temple ; Angkor Wat ; Angkor Thom
Again back to the Koulen Hotel : I don't know if it is a "Boutique Hotel" . I do know that we had a FANTASTIC stay here , mainly thanks to the charming and attentive staff .
We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite, my wife and I and our 12 + 9 year old boys, in September during the lantern festival. The hotel and the rooms were first class and despite being open several months now there were very few teething problems.
The location was perfect - 5 mins tuk tuk, 12 mins walk from the markets. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and the food and drink we had at the hotel was all fresh, tasty and reasonably priced.
If they were to add some tables and chairs near the pool, as well as some overhead lighting in that area,I think they would be hugely appreciated by guests.
Quite simply, I can’t recommend this hotel strongly enough and we’re already working out when we can return!
This hotel is amazing. It is luxury at an affordable rate. The suites are larger than some houses/apartments. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The front desk staff was amazing and friendly. Its location cannot be beat. It is an absolute gem of a place and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
This 2018 hotel is situated right next to a new mall called Heritage walk. Do visit the store Zando where you can buy heavily discounted branded clothes. Starbucks and restaurants conveniently located in this new mall. Tuktuk always available from the hotel which can take you to town or night market for $2 one way. 1 block away is also a popular Lucky mall. Big, clean rectangular pool. Breakfast features egg station (egg benedict and soft boiled eggs are a must). Noodle and fruit stations are a bonus. Our 2 bedrrom with huge balcony overlooking the pool was an excellent view. Staff is extremely polite and friendly. Supervisors meng and ellie are specially generous in extending our check out time. This property in not to be missed with exceptionally reasonable 5-star price.
Staff was outstanding. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and very good. Rooms were nice. Took a tuktuk every day. Driver was very nice and helpful with places to visit and things to do. Dinner was very good and reasonably priced.
Spent three nights at Koulen and found all the staff super helpful, especially Ghida, Tith, Lisa and Thida, who helped us decide which temples to visit, spoke great English and did it all with big, wide smiles. We were so busy we didn’t get time to use the pool but we did use the gym (great treadmill), and our rooms were very clean and comfortable and delightfully quiet despite the central location. The hotel is right across the road from a great little mall and cinema complex (sounds strange when in Asia but we highly recommend The Pizza Company — standout service and best thin crust pizza and garlic bread we’ve ever had). The hotel is also within walking distance of Pub Street, which we loved. Thanks Koulen Hotel, would stay again.
The hotel is fantastic ! The room plus the living room are large and comfortable ! We stayed 6 nights and after the first night we asked to change the room to a room with a view to the garden and swimming pool. Our request was accepted with a big smile. The staff is very friendly and willing to support and advise. The hotel staff recommanded us to go to the circus in one of the evenings and a half day tour in the countryside. Our Tuk Tuk driver Mr. Bunneng who took us to those places is from the Koulen hotel. His English is good and he knows both the city snd the villages around the city. Our visit to Siem Reap was a combination of sightseeing and rest and the Koulen hotel with its accomodation , swimming pool and kind staff was the best formula to achieve that.
Stayed in twin suite for six nights and had a wonderful experience with Nate, Thida, Miss Ellie, Takako, Rosa, and really everyone on staff. Super clean, well run property that meets your every need. Restaurant and outside bar were superb with great drinks and food. Two thumbs up and highest recommendation for the Koulen. Manager also checked on me to make sure everything was to my expectations and they were! Great property..
We have chosen Koulen mostly because of the many great reviews of this relatively new hotel here in Trip Advisor. And this is going to be another great one based on the experience over the past 3 days.
Airport pick up: @Hakato-san, a super friendly guest relations Koulen staff picked me up and brought me to the van. Great first impression as she explained all details and was very receptive to all questions I had.
Rooms: very comfortable, particularly king sized bed and modern bathroom facilities. Even a living room.
Internet: mostly very good.
Breakfast: good. Had everything one needs
Tours: I compared with outside offers and to be frank. No need to book elsewhere. So much more comfy booking via hotel. They have a tuktuk team and for 2 entire days @Mr Sok Sen was my driver, ever so helpful, always there, very flexible, meaning you basically tell him where you want to go or stay or eat and he will be supporting you. Thank you Mr Sok!
Pool Bar: very nice staff making you feel very welcome. Special thanks to Mr @Chuch Khner and the pool manager. They could even fulfill a specific dinner wish I had and the Chef provided deliciously. Very well done
Last but not least: BIG thank you to the reception ladies and gents. Any questions were competently dealt with and with a big smile. Not much more to wish for.
If I do not put at least one thing to improve the above shall look like too good to be true. So I will mention. two things
1) the reservation had the benefit of 20%off on food&beverages. At check out, I needed to remind the team. This was corrected immediately though. Thanks.
2) what could be added to breakfast is a wider selection of fruit juices. Lots of fruits at breakfast available. Could add a juicer.
Will I come back for all the great things I experienced ? Absolutely yes!
Thanks Team Koulen!
recently stayed @ the Koulen hotel with a group of friends. we had 1 suite with 4 rooms (407/408/409/410). great price considering we split the room fee 4 ways. very clean, luxurious & spacious. each room had gift baskets of dragon fruit & bananas upon entering. 2 sided balcony. the staff is sooooo gracious, kind & humble. helpful with all our questions, booking tours & all our needs. great street food steps away from hotel entrance. also located in between 2 malls. located a few blocks from pub street. a $2usd tuk tuk ride to night market, so close we even walked to night market a few times after we ate.close enough to cheap shopping but tucked away on a very quiet street, no heavy foot or vehicle traffic. we had our suite cleaned, accidentally left the safe box's open in all 4 rooms inside our suite. money, passports, camera's & nothing was missing. just proves how honest & kind the entire staff is. from doormen/doorwomen, people @ front desk, cleaning crew staff & miss Ellis who made sure all our needs were met. to sum it up. i never write reviews. this is probably my 1st last & only time. but i felt the need to relay the positive experience. Mahalo Koulen staff & hotel from your Hawaii guests !
Two-Bedroom suite
Oh, what a lovely hotel. It is newly open and they still teach and learn their staff the hotel business. And they do it good. We where warmly greeted, felt very welcome and the place is clean, friendly and luxurious.
Our suite was big, clean and comfortable, with a nice view over the great pool-area. Service is good and everyone friendly. I will for sure come back.
It is centrally located, as you can easily walk to city-centre (pub-street), but quiet enough for relaxation and some lazy days. Good for both business and pleasure. This hotel has a really good atmosphere all over and is a good alternative in Siem Reap.
My family and I stayed at Koulen hotel and we recommend it 100%
The staff is just amazing, very friendly and always here to help you
The rooms are spacious, modern and very clean
The breakfast is also very good, the food is freshly cooked in front of you and you have a wide range of choices !
It is one of the best hotel I did in Siem Reap so fare, really good experience!
I'm very happy with this hotel because everything was perfect during my stay. The staff were very smiling, polite and very respectful. A staff member named Mr. Meng helped me one night when I needed it. I have nothing to say, this is an exceptional hotel.
The staff was so freindly, warm and helpful, everything you need is in this hotel.
The F&B Director Alex Lenti was so accomodating and to rest of the staff as well.
Will surely stay in the same hotel on my next visit to Siem reap.
When we arrived to the hotel and taken to our room I noticed it was not the type of room I had originally book according to pictures on here. Our living room and kitchen area was shared with two other rooms and not what we booked. After the long trip I was tired and really didn’t want any issues with front desk but went down any way because I didn’t want my small kids to be in this situation. I brought it to managements attention and he explained the person in our room had become sick and extended their stay. He worked greatly to help my family and I remain comfortable for the evening and moved us to a room the next day that opened up. I have to admit I was very impressed by management and MORE importantly the staff. Everyone greeted us when we walked by. Staff came around and struck up conversations with us while waiting for food or waiting on transportation and it seemed genuine, I believe they want to know their customers comfort levels and fix any issues you may have in a prompt and professional manor. Also I met staff from a few different regions of the world some from Japan, Italy, & Philippines to name a few, so translators are there if you would prefer that language. Location is perfect. 5-10 minute walk to downtown/touristy restaurants bars and shopping or 2 minutes on tuk tuk and down the street from a Starbucks if you“just have to get some”. To get to Angkor Wat it was about 15 minutes in tuk tuk. Price for quality is way undervalued at the moment. Once this place is found by more travelers bookings will be harder to come by and prices will go up due to demand. I highly recommend staying here. Perfect for all types of travelers.
Also I saw a complaint on here about no hot water. We just left there yesterday and I can confirm that there IS now hot water...very hot water so be careful if standing under the shower.
Koulen Hotel is a brand new hotel that offers huge living spaces. It's perfect for families, big groups or couples like us who don't want to get squeezed into tiny rooms. The whole staff are lovely. They go out of their way to serve you. Everyone is unbelievably polite.
The hotel arranges tours to Angkor Wat and other places. We were very lucky to have Savong, our tuk tuk driver, on our first day. We loved him so much that we toured the temples with him for two more days. He kept on spoiling us with small treats along the way. He's a real gem. Thank you so much Savong, we miss you!
The pool is great for chilling out after a tiring day. The hotel is located in a quiet area, so it's perfect to get a good night's sleep. Alex and his team have a done a great job. Keep up the good work! We will be back, hopefully soon!
We stayed at the hotel just before their official opening, and there's not one thing we could fault. The reception area and rooms are spotless, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the pool area is so relaxing and clean with staff assisting with towels and drinks/food. When we arrived the staff took the time to tell us about the area and also assisted us in planning a tour of Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples at very short notice. We would recommend this hotel to everyone, and if we return to Siem Reap would love to stay here again.
First of all, I would like to thank Koulen Hotel's Staffs for the one of the best hospitality services I've ever been in my life. This hotel is top notch. Very close to all locations such as pubs, malls, spa, and few minutes tuktuk ride to the main temples. But thats not it! Their staffs are one of the most hospitable people in Siem Reap. They will greet you with smiles, open the doors every time and follow up your request without any hesitations. The rooms are so big and equipped with 1 bath each. The pool is pretty descent. The gym needs a bit of improvement, and the kitchen needs a bit more items. Probably a proper frying pan will do. All in all it's excellent!
First of all it’s a NEW hotel! So all those negative comments, most of them have been fixed so no need to be concerned !
Our group of 8with a 3 year old stayed for 3 nights in 2 rooms we were completely blown away on how amazing this property is!
We were picked up in an ac Van from the airport. The very sweet guest relations rose introduced us to the city on the way to the hotel and over a iced drink while checking in.
We were there for the marathon and they helped us arrange transportation early in the morning.
The rooms are AMAZING ! They are huge ! Bigger than most apartments ! Open kitchen YES with all the utensils u could need to cook a huge feast ! Huge lounge room dining table and wrap around balcony facing the pool! It was perfect for a family with kids and for anyone that wants open spaces and great views. Bedrooms were nice and spacious and comfortable. Huge bathroom with. Yes. Hot water !
The pool was brilliant! Big enough to do laps and perfect just to lay by and relax under the umbrellas !
It is just next to a new shopping complex. So in a few months it will be finished and nice to look around. We went to the supermarket on the other side
It’s only 10’mins walk to the pub street. Where u can find everything and eat anything u could want
What makes this hotel so special is the staff! As working in the hotel industry I am aware of how important customer service is and this place gets it!! Alex the Italian manager was amazing !! So great at his job from the moment we arrived he introduced himself to us and during our stay he would make sure we were looked after and would sit down and have a chat with us ! He truely understand what hospitality is. All the staff are well trained via him. And if they don’t know they will find out for u!
We hired 2 tuk tuks to show us around the temples. One driver mr ming was a superstar ! He speaks English and so friendly! Make sure u ask for him!
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in Im sure with the reputation that it is building u will need to book well in advance !
Just book stay relax and enjoy !!
We stayed here end of July 2018 for 5 nights with my 16 year old granddaughter , what can I say . What an absolutely hidden Gem in Siem Reap.
The staff are so friendly and willing to help and with such beautiful smiles .
We opted for a 2 bedroom hotel room but what we got was a 2 bedroom apartment so spacious with a kitchen , lounge and even a dining table plus 2 separate huge bathrooms/ensuite , balconies on both bedrooms . The Hotel was only 3 months old and it was Amazing . We had breakfast included with a variety of western and asian food . The food was very good and I could even get a latte made . We ate Dinner there twice as the food was also incredible delicious . The 2 nd night the Chef came out and talked to us and inquired how are meals were .
The Koulen Hotel is a quick 10 minute walk to Pub Street etc , so not far away from anything .
I will definitely be coming back to the Koulen Hotel and would Definitely recommend to anyone to stay here .
Service is fantastic .
Thank you to Koulen Hotel and their Hospitality .!!!!
We stayed at the koulen hotel for 3 nights and could not fault it. The rooms are huge! Breakfast was first class, staff were attentive and friendly, pool was clean, large, lovely.
Beds were comfortable , we have a three bedroom apartment for the 4 children, each with a queen bed and ensuite and a seperate room for my husband and I. We easily could have all fitted into the 3 bedroom but having a seperate room right next door was wonderful. We didn’t use the kitchen- why would you when the breakfast was plentiful and the food in Cambodia so amazing and affordable. Staff helped with our travel plans each day and communicated with the tuk tuk drivers- thank you! It is close to everything you need and with all the development close by it will only get better. I would recommend this hotel to all 10/10.
We had a wonderful stay at the Koulen Hotel. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite which had more than plenty of room for 5 people !! The Hotel is clean and well presented and very close to everything you would need (Supermarkets, malls, ATM's ). The City centre is a comfortable walk as well as the market area, but a Tuk-Tuk is only USD$2 which is worth the enjoyable trip alone ! Mr. Meng and his wonderful front desk team are amazing and incredibly helpful !
We will definitely be visiting again in the future !!
Thank you for a fabulous stay. Beautiful rooms, with everything you need. Very caring and attentive staff, felt really looked after. Lovely pool and delicious food. Really close to town. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for having us!
Service. Service and service.
We booked an appartment. Great idear. Everything worked and the staff did what ever they could to make our family very happy. It are close to everything.
So great.
I regret we did not tip more as when we left we find out that no service charge at all.
So sad for this, but we will be back for sure
My husband and I just spent 3 nights at this wonderful place. From the airport pick up to drop off we were amazed by the politeness and helpful staff. Special mention to Rose and Ivy for being so attentive and making us so welcome. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was fantastic, with many choices. We had a late flight but were able to relax by the pool and enjoy the amenities after checkout. We cannot stress enough how fantastic the staff are. We definitely recommend Koulen Hotel to anyone planning to visit Siem Reap.
Everything about this newly opened hotel is excellent. The rooms are very spacious as a result being converted from apartments and have a very homey feeling to them, but what really made this hotel stand out as one of the best we ever stayed at was the staff. All staff has undergone extensive training in how to provide top service and it shows; you really feel pampered and appreciated at all times. While the breakfast wasn't over the top it still felt like a good selection for a hotel of this size and the quality was great. The only things we remarked on as improvements were slightly dry and compact pastries at breakfast and a slightly too well lit restaurant (making it feel more like a business lunch rather than a cozy vaction dinner). We also concluded that if these were the worst things about the hotel it is overall great.
We landed on Siem Reap airport and the hotel had sent out a tuktuk to pick us up. We received a warm welcome by the staff members. The room was clean and everything you could wish for, especially the huge shower and great balcony view over the pool area.
The best thing about this hotel is their tuktuk driver Mr. Ang. He drove us around the Angkor complex for two days. His English is very good, and he knew a lot about the history of cambodia.
We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in siem reap. Not only it's service is great, also the location approximately 10 min walk to nightmarket/pubstreet.
We have stayed for three nights at this hotel. It is conveniently located, just a few minutes walk from lucky mall and ‘2-dollar tuk tuk’ for pub street. Being opened for a few months, the hotel is newly renovated with cosy environment. The room is surprisingly spacious, providing the largest living room and balcony we have ever stayed at hotel. The most impressive is the very friendly and caring staff who are always attentive to our need. For example, they would instantly bring us umbrella when they saw us go out with sudden rain. We have also joined the cooking class, which is an interesting experience to learn cooking Khmer cuisine by the pool side with a certificate provided after class. A great place to stay for vacation at Siem Reap.
Simply a super hotel. Less is more. But to satisfy the tripadviser team I will try to capture our stay. Extremely friendly staff. Super nice pools. Even a cold water dip pool. Super food. Allow the Chef cuisine with his international experience to surprise you with a meal of his choice.
The australian coffee is very good, and strong. We planned to stay 3 days but stayed 6. The prices for trips downtown and to Angkor are very fair.
It is one of the nicest hotels i have ever stayed in
Im sure it will only get even better
The premium room we had overlooked the pool, was spacious for a family
Close to everything.
Sadly there werent any utensils
Would of been nice to make a snack or our own breakfast.
We could not fault the team, they spoilt us and made us feel special everyday.
And helped us with tours
And a personal matter.
We only spent 3 days there
But we felt we were leaving family
Cambodia is beautiful and we will be back
Koulen summit would be my first choice.
I wish them all the sucess in the world.
And i hope anyone reading this review does stay there and enjoy the warm and wonderful feeling you get from the very warm and super helpful and friendly Staff.
Sandra,kylie and Charlotte xx
Well equipped condo with convenient location access to super market and restaurant. Highly recommended for family with elderly or children. All the hotel staff were very nice and caring to my 70 year old mom. The hotel mgr Peter provided a free dinner show for us. Mr Kob, Mr Kouy, Ms Sren, Ms Lisa and all the people at the reception were very professional with friendly attitude. You can always ask their help. We had a great time there!
I went there with my two kids. 1and 4 year old girls. They prepared a baby crib as I wanted but the room was huge and I didn’t need to use it. I booked a twin room and there were one double bed and one single bed. It was enough for three of us. And the staffs definitely were all kind. They knew everything we need. I would go again!!
Love the green environment that they are having in place with quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Room and Bed sizes were big, very comfortable to walk around. They provided a lot of towels , fruit, and other stuff even tough it exceeded our numbers. Breakfast is amazing :) thanks front desk team and others.
It’s an excellent property. Rooms are well furnished and very clean. Quality of food available is good. The hotel staff also very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to front desk manager Mr Meng and his team for making our stay a pleasant one.????????????.
We stayed here from June 14 to 17. When we entered our room, we all were like, 'wow'. Huge living room, big bedrooms, clean house. Felt very relaxed. It's perfect for a big family. The swimming pool was nice and clean. The location is perfect. Lucky mall is very close by. Night markets are at walkable distances. Few indian restaurants around. The staff is very polite and helpful. The breakfast is good. They packed our breakfast for us when we went for sunrise tour. Big thanks for that to the staff. I would definitely recommend this place, and if I visit again, i would definitely stay at this hotel.
Huge rooms, gorgeous pool, great food, and peerless service. Brand new so everything is spotless. This hotel gets top marks in every way. This is the first time I’ve ever submitted a review but I really want to let everyone know what a great hotel this is.
During our 6 night stay we enjoyed the hospitality of all the staff especially Lisa, Thida and Mr On who went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. All of the staff are genuinely compassionate and are concerned with the satisfaction of our stay. The hotel room was impressive as it was large and airy and the Swimming pool was huge as well with a beautiful stone carving in the front.
I'm So satisfied with Koulen Summit Condo. The service was so Great And The stuff were so nice. They still provide free pickup from airport even we got Siem Reap airport almost at midnight,I really appreciated all of stuff, which let me felt back home.Thank u so much!
My wife and I stayed for 3 night and found all of the staff amazing friendly and easy to approach regarding any question that arose.. and thank you to Elli for your service,
All the staff were always striving to ensure we were totally looked after 100% all the time,
Room was very big would recommend if you wish to visit siem reap with big family.
Swimming pool clean and fresh all the time , look everything by nice garden , really enjoy to stayed here and unforgettable memories,
We were met by Mr Orn Sam On (Reservation Supervisor) and his driver in a very professional and courteous manner, given cold towels and icy cold water and conveyed to the hotel. There we were signed in, had all the facilities explained, various tour options shown (no pressure) and shown to our room.
The room was spacious and well appointed. The shower was great with good pressure and plenty of hot water, which is not always the case in Cambodia. Prior to leaving for Cambodia we had heard that the internet can be an issue with connectivity and speed – it was no problem.
As a hint to Aussies the AFL was on Channel 77 on the TV. I think I saw the Rugby League as well while channel surfing.
The hotel has only been opened 3 months and some things are still under development, but don’t worry about possible noise – there wasn’t.
Pub Street is within walking distance, but we tended to use Tuk Tuks ($2US) – strangely enough they are not hanging around the entrance, but one of the front office staff were always willing to jog a little way down the street to a busier road and get one.
It seemed that Tuk tuks in Siem Reap struggle with where you are going unless it’s Pub Street. Numerous restaurants, not in Pub Street, are met with a blank stare and occasionally the need to stop and ask. Being new, the Koulen suffers from the same fate. The easy way to get to the hotel is to say Lucky Mall and then point down the street opposite (just before if you are coming from Pub Street).
Breakfast was superb. Mr Kov Piseth (Food & Beverage Manager) and his offsider, Mr Koy Ouem, were very attentive and were soon attuned to our little quirks eg scrambled, not benedict. At this stage of development it is ordered from the staff, but we were lucky enough to enjoy a buffet breakfast as they tested this future concept on the last day of our stay. It will take breakfast to a whole new level.
The swimming pool was pristine and very welcome, particularly as it is very cold back in South Australia. We admired the work of the attendant each morning as he meticulously folded the pool towels. We found the pool bar area relaxing and Lucky was a laugh a minute.
A particular highlight, among many, was the cooking class. Amid much fanfare we were introduced to Executive Chef, Mr Tuy Yinnarin, a man with a very extensive resume and a terrific sense of humour, and his assistants. It was set up poolside, was informative and a laugh a minute. Eg when the first attempt at using a knife to julienne some vegetables my husband chopped the end off his glove. Highly recommended!
Afterwards we ate our preparations by candlelight next to the pool. We couldn’t eat it all so just ate the hot courses. The remainder was delivered to our room – the cold spring rolls in our dipping sauce for lunch the next day were delicious.
An incredible extra touch was the next day. In the morning at breakfast we were given our certificates and when we got back to the hotel in the afternoon we were given a couple of packets of Khmer A Mok (special commendation to Mr Som Samnang, aka Lucky), which is a powder made into a paste in which the preferred main item (fish, chicken, pork or beef) is marinated. Amok was one of the courses we prepared and we said we hadn’t heard of that ingredient.
Miss Ellie, Guest Relations Supervisor, organised our trip to the Angkor complex. After explaining the options we chose the smaller number of stops tuk tuk tour The driver organised by her was prompt, spoke good English and was very knowledgeable. After each stop he had a fresh bottle of icy cold water and on the way home we stopped for a refreshing ale and pleasant meal at a place he’d selected. You may see cheaper offers out in the street (not that we thought $18 for 2 of us was expensive). but it is doubtful that you would get this level of service.
We stayed for 6 nights. Normally when you leave a place your thoughts are on the next destination, in our case Phnom Penh. Our only thoughts were how sad we were to be leaving. We did make a comment to the Manager that he should be very proud of his staff and his selection procedures. They are very knowledgeable about where the hotel is heading and most importantly, they are very proud of it.
There are many places still to visit in the world, but if we ever decide to revisit a place it will be Siem Reap and the Koulen Summit.
To go to the next level they will need to get Vegemite for us Aussies - lol!
You can build a nice hotel but thats only part of it. You need the staff to match, and this hotel has gone above an beyond with building its team. I recently had my third stay at this brand new hotel and i have never experienced such a giving and friendly such that exist here. The hotel is first class, not a standard hotel per say with very big well appointed rooms and multiple bedrooms in some instances. The location is ideal, being just a 10 minute walk to pub street but in a great area of town and excellent facilities around it. A sensational new shopping mall is being built next door which will take this hotel to a whole new level again. The pool is fantastic, the breakfast has improved tremendously moving into its new location and the overall layout is magnificent. Going back to the staff and adding that to an already top quality hotel and you would go no where else. Looking to book my next trip, i noted a Low Season Special, suggest you grab it , as this hotel will be double the price in the not too distant future. Love this place ,... its a home away from home.
Staff were wonderful. It was very comfortable. I had a balcony which was nice. The room was large with big living room and had a bath with good shower over it. Plenty of hot water. Wonderful setting and close to mall and some good restaurants but hotel breakfast was better. Had a nice pool and surroundings. Loved it there.
We thoroughly enjoy our stayed at Koulen Hotel in last April . First impression by pick me up at the airport elli she very friendly and helpful with luggage cold water and towel she explain us alot around siem reap and she also organised the tour for me.

The best location in heart of Siem Reap City and Super friendly staff all receptionists are helpful to arrange our tour! and comfortable rooms with beautiful pool site I’m really enjoyable with these facilities. concept. We will return again with my family trip.
The Koulen Summit Condo hotel was the best place we staid while travelling in Vietnam and Cambodia. Excellent location next to the king palace. New and spacious apartment. Great facilities. The stuff is very friendly and caring. For my husband's birthday the bed was beautifully decorated with flowers and staff brought the specially made birthday cake with candles. Our stay was just perfect. Special thank you to Meng, Ellie & Lisa, On, Sophuu, Vicheka, Thida & Tan. Thank you all from Irina & Victor Taran.
We booked three nights in Siem Reap at The Koulen Summit Condos through Airbnb. What was originally planned as a condo development has morphed into a hotel/condo and it was lovely. Located right in the center of the city, you can walk to anywhere you want or use a tuk-tuk.
The building itself is brand new and everything was clean with a shiny swimming pool in the center of the complex. The highlight for us was the staff. They helped us with an airport pick-up, restaurant recommendations, and connected us with a wonderful guide for the day to see Angkor Wat and the other temples.
The breakfasts, which were included in the package we bought were generous and tasty.
This was our first visit to Siem Reap and we were glad we found The Koulen on Airbnb.

Arriving with my fiancee on our very first day the staff immediately made a good impression. They were friendly and helpful and showed us to our enormous, modern room with a large comfy bed, impressive ensuite bathroom and balcony with a view of the gardens and 20 metre pool and spa below.
We have enjoyed every minute of our stay and the staff continue to amaze. Staff member Mr Meng in particular goes above and beyond to look after our every need and has become a great friend to us.
This place feels like home.
The staff and comfortable room make us feel just right like at home. Not just the facility is nice, breakfast was so tasty and abundant! Thanks to staffs Kimon, Meng, Suylisa..and many others friendly staff who gave us a wonderful experience with The Koulen Summit Condo!

- Everything about the place was superb service accommodating, food , location. we stayed in luxury suit over looking to the pool . the room itself was very lovely and we couldn't fault it. What really made it for us were the staff they're fantastic, they anticipate your every need. and they really made to effort to ensure your stayed is memorable, specially one of the staff "(Elly) she is very kindly and help us what ever we need , but so sad I couldn't take photo with her because on that day she was day off.
We really enjoy to stayed in this hotel will definitely come back to meet Elly next year.
When we arrived, we got a free pick-up with a very nice driver. When we arrived at the hotel we immediately felt the warmth of all the staff. We were really happy that we could get an early check-in because we just arrived from Vietnam in Cambodia by a long drive in the nightbus. Our room was really fantastic!! Really big, clean, and all the facilities were there! The pool was really beautiful with a hot and cold tub. The breakfast was the best we had this holiday! A lot of different choices and they were all really good! They arranged our tour to ankor what with a really friendly tuk-tuk driver! The day of our tour they even made a really nice breakfast package for us at 5 am! Everyone at the hotel was really friendly and made us really feel like we were living in paradise! I would highly recommend this new hotel to everyone!! A special thanks to Samdeng for making us the best cocktails ever and having a really great night with lots of talking and laughing! We really learned a lot about Cambodia and we followed your advice and went to the Temple you recommended..we really loved it!
Our stay more then exceeded our expectations. The kind, welcoming and very helpful staf made us feel very welcome. It's safe to say that on our stay we've experienced the best hospitality we ever had on our travels. The room was fantastic, spacious with a very good bed. We would highly recommend this fantastic new hotel to everyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Siem Reap.

The staff was very friendly . the check in was relax and we were given plenty of useful information about the hotel, Siem Reap and Angkor Wat Complex.
The room was exactly what I expect from the booking and the lounge was excellence.
The breakfast is so good with many option and fresh fruit.
We please recomment those to everyone who wish to visit Siem Reap,
Beautiful design, good location and friendly staff, and mostly.....everything smell as New.
All sheets, towels and furniture smell so good.
The hotel has a lovely swimming pool
And the staff are trying their best...worth every penny!!!
An absolute cracker .... just happened to land in Siem Reap they opened the doors and had the most 6 days imaginable. Location is ideal ... a gentle stroll to Pub St, opposite Lucky Mall and plenty of parking.... excellent. Staff The best team of staff i have seem for many years.... obliging , passionate, caring and really wanting to give you a remarkable experience. At first you think its more the welcome, but as the days progressed, the staff got better. Pool area... first class... possibly the best in Siem Reap, quiet, spacious, grassed areas, bar and a beautiful pool. Breakfast .... unbelievable..... spoilt everyday with breakfast delivered to my room due the soft opening and small patronage and it was remarkable.... quality of food was first class and they came back to collect within an hour so it wasnt cluttering up the room. The Room, words cannot describe, bedroom area was spacious clean, new, overlooking the pool and bed was so so comfortable. The lounge area was the size of a ballroom. This will be my new home in Siem providing it doesnt get to popular and pricing go to far north. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Really thanks for all Managements and staffs , Especially Mr. Vanna , he is a good man, always help us at all the time, the breakfast is good-swimming pool is very big, Next time will come back to stay, the rate is more higher but it is suitable for the big room -size.
Will recommended to our friends stay at this hotel, Really commended 100%
